A monthly Market that prioritizes low barriers to entry and platforms emerging artists. Organized by Lxl in collaboration with the Brooklyn Peace Center in Bedstuy on the fourth Saturday of every month.
A month-long residency for experimental movement artists. Curated by Lxl in collaboration with the Brooklyn Peace Center in Bedstuy. Residents present works in progress on the first Thursday of every month.
Lxl was co-founded by Bella Thorpe-Woods and Simeon Beardsley. Bella’s background is in performance studies (MA), specifically expanded choreography and dance research, as well as curation and journalism. Simeon’s background is in event planning (concerts, markets), music, and social work (MSW).
